I believe a creative director’s greatest skill is his ability to be present. When you do this well, you uncover what audiences really want—it works with clients and colleagues too. Listening builds trust. And once you’ve earned that, you can speak your truth without worry.
I lead teams of writers, designers, coders, and business people. It’s my job to establish an environment where contribution is nurtured. I fan the flames, nudge, cajole, weed out and synthesize—protecting little sparks until they become big ideas. I have the confidence to push things to just shy of the breaking point—that’s when the magic happens.

I am a neuromarketing geek. I’ll spare you the details about the limbic brain and FMRI technology, but know this: the Mad Men days are over. Sure, I follow my gut too, but understanding how people absorb and processes information allows me to craft creative that has a better chance of beating the mark.
